How many times over the last 18 months or so has Mr Rutter been quoted in press releases about opening "bases" at airports that never in fact become bases and making commitments about future route developments which never come to pass. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle, Aberdeen and Bristol all standing by waiting for FlyBE to launch more route?. It's particularly ironic in this case considering that this latest venture is on the doorstep of his existing operations from Liverpool which only a few short months ago was included in an almost identical press release to this one.
What are they playing at?
And is another route to Belfast really what MAN needs? There will be massive over-capacity in the North West that surely will lead to fall out somewhere; BA's MAN-BHD service probably looking most vulnerable.
