OK, as AD says, the requirement is genuine. I understand it may be a CAA requirement rather than a Virgin one, but I'm trying to get clarification on that.
However, it is not necessary to hold a UK-issued ATPL at the time of application. It's perfectly acceptable to obtain one subsequent to success at interview.
