Agra
A new operation to Agra in India commences on Monday 10 October. Astraeus will be operating a weekly charter service from London Gatwick to the Indian city, which is home to the Taj Mahal, on behalf of Voyages Jules Verne.
The service will operate with a technical stop both ways at Ankara in Turkey. The majority of the season will see crews undertaking a minimum rest in Agra between the outward and return flights, but there is a period between early December and late January where schedules have to be adjusted.
Agra, in common with Delhi and other airports in the region, suffers heavily from early morning fog during these two months of the year, and we are therefore scheduling a much later arrival into Agra to combat the risk of fog diversions. The airport’s night closure times do not change, so this leads to reduced ground time in Agra. As a result, the flights will be operated with a slip crew in Agra for the full week during this fog period.
