Hi,
if you're expecting the Oxford manuals to be learning textbooks i think you're going to be disappointed. They're written more like a reference with little or in fact no explanation of things and offer no hints to the solution of the self-assessment questions (which can be a bit frustrating a times). Nevertheless they're well written, offer a modern presentation of the matter and are IMHO well worth a buy to be used as reference or refresher after your course.
