Some people will always only see this rating as hour building, which is true to some extent, but then again all flying is hour building.

Overall it will increase your abilities, understanding and airmanship, probably without you even realising it (in same cases).

It is not everyone that can impart information professionally where another will benifit so profoundly.

This will eventually probably, if you choose that path, lead to roles in Training and CHecking.

All the Grade ones I know are now working as line pilots and/or conducting Training and Checking for the company's they work for.

It is a shame that so many of these good pilots are not in a position to conduct training for ab-initio students. I think this thread has been raised a number of times.

If you have a twinge to do it, then do it. You will not regret it in years to come. Warning though: before handing over any money to any school make sure you can procure enough part or full time work to at least obtain the minimum hours required to work unsupervised for a school. You may find it hard to find Schools to take on instructors below these hours.

Check ou the CAO's for all the info.
