How do know if your touchdown point will be too long?
If you are on the glidepath at the correct speed as you pass the 50 ft point and carry out a normal landing, your touchdown point should be pretty much in the correct place. You will only float significantly if your speed is too high. It looks as though at least
one of those parameters may have been a little high in this case
