This has always interested me. I can stand up on a moving bus and also on the tube so what's the issue when pulling on to or away from the gate at <1 mph. Flew Ryanair yesterday and I'm always impressed with their new eastern cabin staff. Mind you the PA is almost as bad as BA with Ryanair pushing the sale of scratch cards etc. instead of introducing us to each attendant in each grubby cabin. Ah, the romance of air travel - bmi and BA next week - a riot, I'm sure.
