I chatted briefly with a local pilot who told me he had just been on a simulator check for hiring with Virgin Nigeria. This was in the queue to board VS651 to Lagos. I fell asleep before I had a chance to go back to Cattle Class and ask him for any details, though...
Today I heard from a well-connected source that the Virgin Nigeria pay is around $2,500 USD/month for new hires, which seems incredibly low. That's just third-hand, but I had heard something similar before.
The Aero 737 should finally be here in just a few more days, along with two more Dash 8s. All sorts of new destinations, which should shake up the market a little bit.
