It seems that quite a few applicants fuss over hypothetical situations about who SIA (or MAS or whatever) would choose.

Apart from comparing academic results, there really isn't an objective, scientific way to predict whether a certain cadet will be more successful than the other (by the employer's yardstick).

That is why there are several rounds of interviews. If not, some machine would just score and select you.

If you have the the time to conjure up situations about how you might do, compared to some imaginary applicant, then you probably lack the confidence to complete the training and be a useful pilot. Of course, if you are cocky about yourself, you will also be disqualified.

Do you really think that the interviewers (from Flt Ops, not the HR people) cannot smell someone with no passion or is faking it?

Just be yourself, instead of trying to second guess what the interviewer is looking for.

The Flt Ops folks have interviewed literally tens of thousands or aspiring cadets over the years and they DO know what they are looking for.
