staraviation you are quite right, every airline has had bad summers, ncl frequently suffers the worst. Nordic, transwede, seven air - all had bad bad delays and the likes of BY, MYT etc have suffered equally but none to the extent of XLA. Since the SFB and POP flights started only about 2 weeks worth of flights have left on time. Some delays have been 30+ hours. Staff are more than likely sick to the back teeth of them, indeed XL's own staff are very rarely seen during delays. And as for the 737-400 fleet, NCL deserves better. Puncuality last year with the -800 was excellent.
So far, for summer 2006 xl are looking at basing 3 737-800, one subchartered a/c, most likely SCY/AY 757 again and for the POP/SFB flights the 767-300 again (tf-atu), as this is all economy layout. TCX and Thomson Hols have already signed the contract apparantly.
Jet 2 base, more routes to come then????
Anyone know who will be handling AA?
Has anyone got a winter charter programme? Particularly ski flights?
