Canada is completely different than the UK for employment. In the UK the chance of a low houred pilot getting a FO Jet Job is tough, but it can be done.

In Canada, to work with an airline, you need a full ATPL (the 1500 hour kind). A commercial license only accounts for 200ish, so you've got to get the other 1300 from somewhere.

West Jet, requires 4000 hours total time to apply, & I haven't seen Air Canada post for a pilot job, well actually I've never seen it.

You might also need to look at license conversion, I know to go Canada to JAA is expensive & quite the process, never looked into the other way around.

Good Luck in making it happen for you.
