RVR800,
Your points are well made but on the wrong thread. This thread concerns the CAA's iniquitous proposals to increase charges affecting UK general aviation to a totally unacceptable degree.
As such muddying the waters on a totally different consultation by the UK Department for Transport on UK based foreign registered aircraft is just inappropriate.
This since it is vital that all "stakeholders" in general aviation, and that is ALL of us, be persuaded to make their individual responses to the CAA during the next couple of weeks. Hopefully the volume and quality of the responses will persuade or even force those at the Belgrano to realise that the major UK airlines and other large players enjoy benefits not shared by those of us who pay for their aviation out of a fixed pot of taxed disposable income.
I for one do not intend the usual apathetic approach by General Aviation to prevail this time or, indeed, ever again.
REST ASSURED, IF THIS IS ALLOWED TO PASS INTO LAW UNALTERED, THE PRACTICAL END OF UK GENERAL AVIATION IS ON THE HORIZON EXCEPT FOR THOSE WEALTHY ENOUGH TO BITE THE FINANCIAL BULLET.
So please, RVR800, move your excellent post to another thread and you are assured of my full support in your campaign against the devious proposals of the DfT, probably at the behest of certain individuals in the CAA.
Cheers,
