The outlook for non type- rated FO' s is good.
Many propeller and biz jet pilots were hired last year but since DGCAM has approved an abbreviated training program for experienced airline jet pilots it is unlikely that someone with less than 500h
airline jet (above 40t) is going to get a job with GF.
Moreover, although not an official requirement, GF prefers pilots who flew and lived abroad before, i.e. European pilots who flew in Africa etc.
The ONLY way into GF will be as FO A320 or B767!
The few direct hires on A330 were a one time exception and will not be repeated, the same goes for the B767 DEC's. The only reason for that exception was poor resource planning by GF management.
GF has realised that if they continue to disregard seniority they will lose probably between 50 and a 100 FOs on A320 and B767 by end of 2005 and this would mean losing about 1/5th of the total pilot force!
Therefore promotion only from within based on seniority and merit.
Good look with your applications.
