I dont know if we will ever see another scheduled service to a hub! We may get a new start carrier come in and start a niche route That would not be marketed properly and would last a few months, but thats all i can see happening.
Weve been very lucky in that KLM have remained comitted to airports that most majors would not dream of operating into! You would have thaught that AF would start a service to CDG to corner the market since AF and KLM have merged! Do AF operate small enough a/c to do it though?
From what i gather the franchise carriers make next to nothing i.e Gill airways HUY-CDG! Eastern have said that they want to reamain independant and no longer code share with BMI so any route to a hub would not be viable because they could not offer connections.
Its depressing to think that HUY, an airport that for years was well ahead of BOH, EXT, NWI, BLK, has been left behind. I hope it does not last forever and that someone will make the investment!
