You won't believe the emails/Pms etc that I have had regarding this thread asking for it to be locked, pulled, investigated and so on so I closed it. (public demand and all that)
Well and good; but can you say what the actual problem with the thread was? Doubtless it was more than "public demand", which as Whirly quite rightly points out is a rather nebulous concept. I agree with her that it is disturbing to see what, at this point, appears to be an arbitrary closure.
The actual subject matter of the thread was of no interest to me; but that's irrelevant:
First they came for the Communists,
but I was not a Communist, so I said nothing.
Then they came for the Social Democrats,
but I was not a Social Democrat, so I did nothing.
Then came the trade unionists,
but I was not a trade unionist.
And then they came for the Jews,
but I was not a Jew, so I did little.
Then when they came for me,
there was no one left to stand up for me.
