Thumbs up

I agree entirely. Definitely a good thing to have. It will impprove your flying skills and open doors to employers that wouldn't give you the time of day otherwise. I have a US instrument rating, and after making a few enquiries about getting the UK equivalent, forget it! Make the employer pay for it!
I really have a hard time dealing with the fact that; after being tested and found qualified/competent to fly instrument in one country; one then has to go through the training in another.
Do all the British Airways, American, Virgin, Delta and oter airline pilots, have to go through the training to fly instrument in other countries?
No; that is because flying on instruments is the same, choose which part of the world you fly in. The same goes for the basic CPL/ATPL. If you can fly in one(country), you should be able to fly in others.
I hold more than one licence, and they really do fly the same, from one country to another, even in the southern hemisphere!
