A nice lunch stop not too far from Northampton is Barnsdale Lodge on the North side of Rutland Water. It is inside the Cottesmore Zone which means they can give you radar vectors straight to the helipad. Excellent food and beautiful surroundings. E mail me if you want detailed info and the GPS coordinates.

And also try Arrow Mill near Alcester which is a converted water mill W of Stratford on Avon. The owner is a real helicopter enthusiast and will make you very welcome. Nice food and accomodation. Details in Pooleys Guide.
