You guys had better have a read of the Certified Agreement. It already provides for basings of tech crew in places other than SYD. Furthermore, there is no pre-determined level of financial assistance, allowances or other terms and conditions for such a basing: the CA simply says AIPA has the right to "discuss" all this with QF, but QF can provide absolutely nothing if it wishes. Incredible, isn't it? So EBA getting up or not, it appears QF can move ahead anyway with the SIN base for S/Os, indeed for any rank. I understand that the EBA is attempting to establish such T&C's, allowances, etc.
Frankly, I'm surprised they don't just recruit a bunch of Asians into the role of S/O, and base them in SIN. Would be cheaper. And who's going to stop them? The senior guys bleating about the prospect of suddenly doing one blank line every 15 months, maybe? Yeah, sure....
