PIA new destination and more
They will begin serving Urumqi in Xinjiang Autonomous Region of western China starting August 19th twice weekly nonstop from Islamabad using an A310 and will also code share on China Southern flights from Beijing to Urumqi to carry passengers for onward travel with them, this is in addition to their own PEK operations, PIA are the second major foreign airline to fly to URC after Korean Air which began their service to the city in June.
The carrier are also planning to upgrade Riyadh and Paris to 777 from the A310 as well as restart Istanbul also with the type, IST was supended in April 2000, some east Asian cities may also go 777 from the A310 with Beijing and Tokyo being favoured.
More aircraft leases are also being looked.
