The contracts I`ve signed have been in English, as are the ones between the recruiting agency and the airline.
Japan is a beautiful country, btw - I don't hate it at all!
However as one of the leading economic superpowers, and a high profile country, wouldn't you agree,
SL that it needs to come into the 21st Century with its treatment of human beings, and set a good example?
I believe there might be some testing of its discriminatory practices in the not too distant future, that could bring it further into the limelight.
