Clearly you are new to all this. Your cocky comments about upgrading to captain and your blinkered view all point toward someone upon whom reality has yet to settle.

Wait until the end of the summer when you've had the 3am phone scramble call a few times. Try objecting that you have only been in bed four hours because your brief was for a 9z show and receive the response that they signed you off 11 hours ago so it's legal to wake you.

Do a few dozen tours where your airline is at 6z but your duty time only starts 5 hours later.

Find yourself in a few sub-standard hotels (read your Part 'A', it now says 3 star hotels are considered adequate. See how they change things without telling you? Get used to it).

Speaking of changing things, expect 6 on/4 off to become the norm. 'They' have instructed Rostering to make this the case 'whenever possible'. Didn't tell you that on your indoc either, did they?

Wait until you've been rostered into discretion on day 6 a few times.

Try explaining to those who work harder on the small cabin fleets with no APU or FA why others with an easier life get paid more.

Look at your pay cheque in a few years and see how you are earning less than you were before.

My friend, when you have experienced all this THEN come back and tell us we are making it up.

In the meantime I will forgive your exuberant arrogance and accept your humble apology.
