Hi guys...
I just got back from an unscheduled flight I did to help in this hard day and was really amazed by the friendliness, help and good attitude of all my colleagues at work and in the airport area.
Today was a difficult day for the attacks in central London....
No public transportation available and the M25 being a huge car park made life very difficult for everybody at work and for the poor passengers.
I was amazed by how hard all the crews worked, many flights went on minimum crew complement as many couldn't get to work. I live near the airport and, having asked Ops if they needed me any earlier than my scheduled report time, was asked to go in as quickly as possible!! Door to door it took me (walking) 20 minutes-unbelievable! I think I am ready for the next Olympic games!!!
Some passengers were very scared of a terroristic attack to our plane (I believe it's a normal reaction) and kept asking questions about the plane

some couldn't wait to get out of London, of course there was still someone who complained that the check-in queue was too long (!!)
On the inbound flight had lots of American pax who had nowhere to go since had to cancel their hotel reservations in central London and were scheduled to fly the following day...everybody was asking questions...where can I find a hotel near here...how do I get to...can I sleep at the airport...

I bet it's one of those days-you're not a cabin crew anymore for them....you're a newsagent, a counsellor, an athlete

a messenger, nurse, etc....
Still, I am glad everybody made a big effort and tried to make this day as easy as possible for everyone trying to travel to and from here
How did you guys cope?
