Bexair
Bexair is advertising again for 604 current pilots. Just to remind the new applicants to ask Bexair the following questions.
According to the Bahrain CAA ANTP regulations, and the Bexair operations manual, Bexair pilots are not allowed to fly more than 30 flight hours in any given 7 day period. Ask Bexair if they are complying with this rule? Also one is not allowed to have more than 100 flight hours in any 1 month. Ask them if they are complying with this rule.
The Bahrain CAA ANTP lists duty times, etc. No matter what Bexair says, they can not supercede the Bahrain CAA.
According to the Bahrain CAA ANTP regulations, and the Bexair operations manual, Bexair pilots are required to have a 24 hour rest period in any given 7 day period. This means by regulation, Bexair must inform a crewmember when his 24 hour rest period takes effect. Sitting in a hotel waiting for a trip assignment does not count as a 24 hour rest period unless Bexair informs you by phone or fax you are off for 24 hours. Anotherwords in plain english, they are required to give you 1 day off every 7 days. Ask Bexair if they are complying with this rule.
Bexair will tell you the normal employment period is 60 days on, wityh no days off. When they tell you this they are already in violation of the regulations.
Bexair never does weight and balance on their 604. You will fly overweight. According to Bahrain CAA ANTP regulations and Bexair operatuions manual, a W&G is required before every flight.
Ask Bexair if they are complying witrh this rule.
Bexair can not supercede the Bahrain CAA ANTP regulations, no matter what the Bexair operations manual says or their internal correspondence says. If you do not comply with the above you are in violation. If an accident happens Bexair management will be able to absolve themselves by blaming you the pilot as not complying by the regulations.
Bexair's duty time starts 1 hour before a scheduled flight, and ends 30 minutes after completion of a scheduled flight. Ask Bexair for example if you go to the airport 2 hours before a flight, instead of 1 hour does this then count as duty time? Or, if you leave the airport 1 hour after completion of a flight instead of 30 minutes does that count as duty time? Ask them if travel time is part of duty time or rest time. My point being you will be "shortchanged" on your rest periods, and times between flights.
Get Bexair's answers in writing, as the more people who stand up to illegal operating procedures by Bexair, in the end you are making this industry a better place. In the end is the other issue of contract 2 week and 30 day p;ilots receiving over twice the pay you are receiving as a full time Bexair pilot. You will find the part time 604 pilots they use could care less about any rules. Kind of shows Bexair's character of buying off people, and the true character of these part time pilots.
