If you are talking about "EDITIONS" and not print dates, there are a some differences. Not sure about the diff between edition 1 and 2, but I know that edition 3 has a lot more information on "VERY BIG JETS" and covers a lot on the earlier B747 models. I'd say if you need the book for aerodynamics and other principles of flight you can't go wrong with either edition.
I found that for the interview the 747 stuff was good to know but not necessary. In the interview itself I was asked about the fuel system in the 747 and that was it.
