I am trained and auth'd to carry out 'A' Checks but this latest AD (as stipulated by DGAC) does not allow pilots to carry out the check because it involves opening a panel that does not have any pilot-proof catches on it - see other thread. Therefore, if I need to overnight anywhere then I have to arrange for a Licenced Engineer to carry out the check.
If you're telling me that your maintenance dept have read it differently - I would like to know as it would save lots of time and money!!!!!!
