Just to put things in perspective, I know 3 blokes who did Aeronautical Engineering at the University of NSW, and all of them are now working in fields outside of aviation. Only one of them worked in Aero after graduating, but like the others he has now found a hell of a lot more money and better job satisfaction in other mechanical engineering fields as well as mining (a huge bloody industry here).
