Thanks Matkat, yes it depends very much upon which country an ex military is trying to get his civil ratings. I guess that an ex USAF guy with 15 years of hangar and office would get an A & P in the USA in a heart beat.
I am thinking about Hong Kong, who still follow the UK/ JAR system, and knowing how sniffy they are about A & P I just wondered if any of you had experience of getting a JAR/EASA type of licence straight out of any of the airforces.
We are looking to employ these guys, so we shall get the answer in the end from the CAD, but it helps to be forewarned of the requirements.
