Granted that unemployment is north of 30% and inflation is about 5% (not so bad actually), u do have 50% of the population below the poverty level (which was greater duing apartheid era), so u will have some major problems (Crime, Aids, corruption, all the vices that come in a value pack due to poverty etc...).
Hopefully this turbulence will not last forever. I think ZA has come along way since the end of apartheid, and things will only get better. According to the B*ll S*itter pessimists that "predicted" a civil war when ANC took over, things aren't so bad.

Alot of the people who think things in ZA are not getting better simply miss the good ol Botha days when the majority were not even considered in the economic equation. Nothing against anyone here, but usually the road to positive change is not always so smooth. Alot of African countries have been and are far worse off to be in than ZA. Lets stay positive.
