Once again, I say that a type rating will not for sure give you a job, but it will put you in a better situation to get one than when you are Ab-initio. I know several guys who did a TR and get a job right after, I know other several guys who had an interview but didn't succeed, I did myself a TR and I'm now flying the 737 in a sunny country.
If you decide to do a TR Astraeus is one of the best TRTO for that, very pro, good instructors, and not so expensive.
If you can afford it, just do it.
