According to today's issue of
La Prensa, Immigration authorities in Nicaragua yesterday alerted border personnel to be aware of the possible presence of two Al Qaeda suspects within Central America.
According to authorities, the two individuals are Ahmad Salim Swaydan, who supposedly participated in a terrorist act against the US Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2002, and a Yemeni citizen named Altuwiti, who has been involved in terrorist activities.
Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador mobilzed humanitarian troops to Iraq to aid US Forces. This supposedly provoked reactions from Al Qaeda. Although Honduras and Nicaragua has withdrawn their soldiers, El Salvador still maintains troops in Iraq and it's government has been threatened by Al Qaeda.
