What you are saying is that any B747 with an engine failure that does not land at the nearest suitable airport is, in consequence, a three-engined ferry. Are you really telling me that there are no U.S. carriers that have failed to land a 747 at the
nearest suitable airfield? I suspect that there are U.S. carriers that have indeed been guilty of such operational decisions. In fact, I think it will be easy to find lots of examples. Any comment?
