Hi Crop,

Conf Full is the preferred flap setting for landing (Lower Vapp speeds, shorter LDG dist compared to Conf 3, etc), and hence there is no need for an operator to suggest or highlight that a Conf Full landing must be made.

When operationally required, for example, when windshear conditions are anticipated during approach and/or landing, Conf 3 will be used for landing instead of Conf Full as per the FCOMs.

On a A321, a tailstrike will occur if the pitch attitude exceeds 11 degrees (9.5 degrees with the landing grar compressed). PNF will make a safety call out "PITCH PITCH" if the pitch angle reaches 7.5 degrees during the flare.

Crew awareness and diligence will avoid a tailstrike from occuring. This is usually highlighted by the operator and/or the manuals and hence a way used to avoid tailstrikes from occuring.

Note, SOPs do differ depending on the operator.

Hope this helps
