The 62 alleged mercenaries who were expected to arrive at the Beit Bridge border post at midday today are still at the Chikurubi prison outside Harare. Their release papers have been signed, but they have yet to arrange transport from the prison.
A private bus company has refused to transport the men to the Beit Bridge border post. The men have served 12 months in jail for arms and immigration offences, allegedly linked to the abortive coup plot in Equatorial Guinea.
All hold South African passports.
