OK you lot, I was going to save the big guns til another time, BUT if you want interesting approaches, not to mention landings, then you will just have to head off to the backcountry strips in Idaho.
We went touring around here last summer and it is truly unbelievable. You can see a good selection on this site:

We managed Johnson Creek and Smiley Creek amoung others, but most of these awesome strips are out of our league until we return to do one of the backcountry flying seminars.
I think it's great that all my years of flying and the thousands of hours count for nothing out here. If you look around, flying can still get as challenging as you like no matter what your background. Where are all these bored PPL's ?!
