And the overshoot isn't much fun either.

They also have a "Checkerboard" similar Kai Tak, however when I was there it had slipped down the mountain in a monsoon storm. Fortunately I did not see it and try to use it.

There is a great sense of satisfaction when safely on the ground and the wheels are chocked, just need to change the underwear.

This photo is taken at the very moment you level out after a 180 deg descending turn, immediately behind the aircraft is a mountain similar to the one on the "overshoot"

For those who don't know the area, WMBT is Tioman Island about 20 minutes (in a C172) off the coast of Malaysia in the South China Sea.

The go-around decision is made in the turn, you just keep on going round and out over the sea.
