Pretty much, yes. Pilots certainly need to be aware before starting a campaign of the artillery that the opposition is going to bring onto the field of battle. I'm not saying that we therefore shouldn't embark on this campaign, though.
And while we should most certainly be proactive about safety, when addressing any issue you also need to be aware that people will then say "If this hasn't been a problem up to now, why bother doing anything about it?". So we need to be able to point to
fatigue-related accidents and incidents. Further, in contrast, we challenge the authorities to demonstrate any accident or incident that was
alcohol-related.
