The Globespan company wants to launch a longhaul operation from Scottish airports to serve popular leisure-based routes possibly with second-hand 777s or ordering the 787. The airline would be a totally seperate company from flyglobespan, although would operate on the same basis as a mix of seat-only & providing capacity for Globespan's holiday companies. The DC-10 is NOT going ahead (DC-10s & Globespan don't go together ... wasnt that the problem with Excalibur?!) but the longhaul operation is being pondered.
flyglobespan is the scottish short & medium haul operation with 738s. Any news on the 736s or why they were ordered? The 736 hasn't sold well internationally, and for its size is meant to be heavy. Will these also have winglets?
