Since u went for your 1st interview in dec last year and didn't make it, i would suggest u wait for another 6 months before applying again... as that's usually the minimum waiting period before they consider yr application at all.. So that would means May-June. Try again during that period and hopefully they'll call u for another interview.
I went for my 1st interview way back in 2003... and i didn't make but i never gave up... i applied 4wks back and went for my interview on the 14th April!
Well, i guess yr fren meet the requisites this time round therefore they called him up for interview but all i can say, is keep on trying. U've got nothing to lose.
