If you have the cargo, the DC10 is the ideal aircraft. The A300 looks good for medium range, 40 tons. Not burn to much fuel, easier to mantain than a dc8, and more volume. the requiremetn is 4 to 5 hs and stop and lots of volume, more than payload. Most of the cargo is not as heavy but need volume.
