'Limited industrial action' and 'contract compliance' (work to rule to the rest of us) have been suspended from Sunday 21st October. Talks with management to start soon (Tuesday?) with reinstatement of the 49 not a precondition for talks.

I personally believe the union position became untenable after the recent vote to continue their action when the industry was clearly in free fall. Any semblance of sympathy, even from those of us who supported the rostering grievance issues, vanished. It was only a matter of time.

Unfortunately, even these new talks have been preceded by posturing from both sides.

I have heard talk of a binding (really binding) 5 year agreement as an objective. YES PLEASE.................
