That still means (doesn't it?) that if the item has not been fitted in the EU previously, we are still back to the CAA approving it.
There is a treaty between the CAA and the FAA for mutual recognition of approvals (90+ pages of it) but AIUI the CAA has still got to approve it, in the form of issuing an AAN.
