Read DM's remarks with interest. question(s)..do you feel long(and loyal) serving employees should be rewarded with pay cuts and threats of termination?. is it solid business practice to 'eliminate' professional employees once they get to the top of the tree?(a la haeco under DT).don't senior people in ANY professional capacity, having dutifully served their employer, deserve some show of loyalty and recognition in return? accountants and managers make errors but these are not measured in human lives lost..can you possibly imagine the collective effect that killing 400 plus people would have on their families?...dramatic..maybe..but history has proven beyond any arguement that the path that this company is following is leading in one direction only...and god help them when they get there. you can talk numbers all you want but the cold hard fact is that CX senior captains are paid about industry standard salaries for 747 pilots with their level of experience..not more... the problem is they work much harder for it and they no longer have even the basic conditions provided by leading global airlines..i.e a roster. if you asked almost ANY pilot(or their family)where they would be tomorrow they give you a map of the world and a dart! you are correct..there ARE good cheap pilots...why aren't they here?...the selection process is thorough...maybe they're not as good as YOU think or perhaps they can see what is most obvious ..that CX does not value loyalty, skill and safety over profit and that the word 'career' is no longer part of our lives.we WILL move on....most of us are mooching about waiting for a moderate retirement payout(if you believe the CX numbers you're more gullible than us!)and either giving it away all together or taking a local contract job with 14 days off at home /month for the same money....it leaves a foul taste to commit to a company,be promised a career(having given one up to get here)and be treated with complete contempt.....every few months it's something else..and always a downgrade. well good luck both recruiting and training as the captains leave. if you think their ability and experience count for nothing..i suggest you get yourself an aluminium-proof umbrella!
