But if you are interested in working for a world class airline flying to interesting destinations in new technology widebodies (lots of sitting though), and living abroad experiencing different cultures (You only get one kick at the can so why not eh.?) then go for it with both guns.
I believe the starting pay for an SO is about $HK390,000.00 plus about $HK20,000.00 a month for accomadations. Asia is the new economic engine for the world and has a growing disposable income so I imagine Cathay will be secure financially for the forseeable future. But research it and figure it out prior to applying as they are only interested in keeners (and apparently that alone is not enough). Search pprune thoroughly, pick up a lonely planet for HK.
