Thought DC3's went into Wau. In fact, in the '60's I think they operated RPT Lae - Bulolo - Wau - Port Moresby almost daily.
I remember Talair used to carry heavy consignments of "spray nozzles" from Bulolo - a euphamism for gold, carried as normal consigned freight because Talair would not accept the liability for loss.
