Three escape in helicopter crash
A pilot and two passengers had a lucky escape after a helicopter crashed and caught fire.
Northumbria Police said the small helicopter was attempting a landing at Langley Castle, near Haydon Bridge, Northumberland, on Thursday.
Police said for reasons still to be established, the aircraft collided with the landing area and caught fire.
The pilot and two passengers escaped before the fire started. The Civil Aviation Authority has been informed.
Crews from Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire.
There was no damage to any surrounding property.
