RV6 you must have known Norm Camp and Bob Waller. Last saw Bob at Keith Buxton's funeral on the Gold Coast. Bob drove me to Mt Hagen when the Kassam Pass was almost impassable (did a sump at Henganofi)... but what a place for hospitality is that place called HGU!!
I believe Geffrey Bowen-Jones (TAA Manager, New Guinea) financed Norm Camp into his first tourist bus for the Travaire Tours mainly for the trip to the Baiyer River Bird of Paradise Sanctuary.
One thing I've never found out is how Bryan Grey got a story, front page to boot, into the Post-Courier about Air Niugini buying a Submarine. I fielded so many questions on - that it amazed me how people believed it!!
