BA pushed for higher aircraft utilisation post 9/11 and this seems to have left them vulnerable to operational disruptions like weather that quickly snowball into bad delays and/or cancellations.

I've never quite figured out why BA suffer more that someone like bmi, given that bmi's utilisation is at least as high (or higher) and they operate at the same airport.

I suspect that BA aren't as good at pulling out the stops to recover the situation as others. It certainly is something they need to solve, as their competitive position is nowhere if their operational performance is rubish!

Just checked the cancellations for that day...

BA cancelled 60 flights (30 arr / 30 deps); AF canelled 1 arr / dep rotation. Noone else cancelled a single flight on 25 Feb!!!

Something is definitely wrong with BA.
