Mazzy, think positive: it's
good to bust the zone slightly
with your instuctor aboard because you are
learning and I bet you will have this in the forefront of your mind next time you are returning. All aprt of the learning process, and I bet no real harm was done.
... kept forgetting was to synchronise the heading indicator with the compass... I need to get this into routine or I am gonna mess up every time.
We were taught to do "FREDA" checks every 15 minutes (I thought everyone does this?):
- F - Fuel
- R - Radios
- E - Engine
- D - DI
- A - Altimeter
