As for the image portrayed by some of our 747 pilots: I have never flown one, but the hard-working FO on my last trip got bounced from the 747 FE seat into our narrow-body jet. He admitted, during his second trip after IOE, how much more intense the work is, when flying short legs (:30 - 1:00 enroute time).
