To qualify our Spitfire loving colleague's observations
(a) the x percent STODA distance is from start TODA to a point from which an obstacle clear gradient of x percent exists
(b) STODA has nothing to do with TORA (as this relates only to the declared length of seal) but merely provides a data table matching reduced runway lengths against corresponding obstacle clear gradient surfaces. How this data may be used by the ops engineer or pilot is variable.
